Tomorrow’s Another Day By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 Through the window I listen to the train go by it’s been a little bit since I’ve been outside but hey tomorrow’s another day Been waiting for the sun to show its face to shed a little light on an ugly place but hey tomorrow’s another day PRE CHORUS As the dawn it comes a creepin’ in the darkness ends a chance for us to try again to try another way Every step along we go walk the only way we know, and let the morning lead us on our way Cause hey CHORUS Hey hey tomorrow’s another day VERSE 2 Pack my things, head out back walk through the trees along the railroad tracks. I’m never looking back But It feels a little bit dead out here, nothing up ahead is coming in too clear, maybe the end is drawing near PRE CHORUS We all gotta have somethin’ to live for, wanna have someone to die for or so the story says Gotta hold on to ones we love everybody needs a shove to get up off the ground and start again But hey, hey hey BRIDGE Hear the story of a life got lost in a fight didn’t make no sense, make no sense How many gotta die fore’ they see it ain’t right, see it ain’t right Little hope no light ain’t nobody gonna fight nobody gonna stand is it ever gonna end If we don’t look into the light VERSE 3 I said today I’m gonna cut the gin but I drowned myself in a bottle again well hey, tomorrow’s another day And there ain’t nothin’ quite like a one night stand to watch your life slip through your hands but hey, we’ll all be dead someday PRE CHORUS We all got a little voice talks to us somewhere deep inside us but do they all sound the same? Just for once, man I’d like to hear it say you done good you’ll be OK just keep your shoulders straight As the dawn it comes a creepin’ in the darkness ends a chance for us to try again to try another way But hey, hey hey… CHORUS Tomorrow’s another day Tomorrow’s another day Tomorrow’s another day

Let’s Start This Over By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 Lately I’ve been thinking About the good old days A little too much drinking We’d sit back and waste the days away Hoping that this world would never change But lately I’ve been sinking in a hole I dug myself And after all this drinking It’s harder to remember how it felt Back before the world had gone to hell CHORUS So let’s start this over And take it back where it all began Let’s try this sober Rewrite the rules and play again Maybe if we learn a little earlier we might Just start this over This time we’d get it right VERSE 2 Since I can remember, I’ve looked into the sky And dreamt about my future A compassionate, sophisticated guy But I must have pictured someone else’s life Cause now I sit here drinking most every single night Telling people stories and singing songs about a better life And If I had another chance to get it right CHORUS So let’s start this over And take it back where it all began Let’s try this sober Rewrite the rules and play again Maybe if we learn a little earlier we might Just start this over This time we’d get it right BRIDGE Was it something I said was it something I did that it ended up like this? I’m in over my head and I’m all out of time. I used to be on the top but now I’m falling behind Seems I just can’t get it right But It’s all up to me, I’ve just gotta decide CHORUS Let’s start this over And take it back where it all began Let’s try this sober Yah maybe if we set aside the arrogance this time Maybe if we tried a little harder we could find Someone better than we’ve been Somewhere buried deep inside Cause It’s not over So this time let's get it right

So Far to Go By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 Show me the way but take it slow I know that I have so far yet to go Along the way my knees have gotten old But I'll follow you everywhere you go VERSE 2 I have driven down so many roads As many different people come and go Been looking for the road that leads to home So show me the way but take it slow CHORUS And I know that everything that's in my heart is in my hands And I know somehow you've been here this whole time helping me stand When I feel like I've walked all the way from here to Mexico Still I know I've got so far to go VERSE 3 I feel as though my heart it's going cold The days and nights are steady growing old As if my story's already been told Sometimes it feels like I'm ready to go CHORUS And I know that everything that's in my heart is in my hands And I know somehow you've been here this whole time helping me stand When I feel like I've walked all the way from here to Mexico Still I know I've got so far to go BRIDGE Oh oh oh, oh oh oh The clock is ticking down ever slow Tearing out the seams in my clothes in my clothes It's wearing down the surface of my soul VERSE 4 Show me the way but take it slow I know that I have so far yet to go Along the way my knees have gotten old But I'll follow you everywhere you go CHORUS And I know that everything that's in my heart is in my hands And I know somehow you've been here this whole time helping me stand When I feel like I've walked all the way from here to Mexico Still I know I've got so far to go

Whiskey On Her Lips By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 I was sitting on a bar stool When she walked over to me She moved in real close and And put her lips against my cheek She said, hey boy I’ve got something That I’d like you to see I said hell I’d do anything Anything you asked of me VERSE 2 She drained her glass and slammed it On the bar and took a seat She poured another whisky And she slid it down to me I probably should have passed it up I was already in too deep But goddamn I love the way she looks at me CHORUS When she’s got whisky on her lips Like the seven deadly sins You better try to hold her back Boy you best not let her in Cause when that bottle’s in her grip And the devil’s on her hips She’s gonna try to pull you down With her with every little sip VERSE 2 A dozen other nights They all played out just the same Sometimes we’d wake up in the morning And forget each other’s names Head back out in the evening And we’d play her little game But man it gets tough When every single night it ends this way CHORUS When she’s got whisky on her lips Like the seven deadly sins You better try to hold her back Boy you best not let her in Cause when that bottle’s in her grip And the devil’s on her hips She’s gonna try to pull you down With her with every little sip BRIDGE I wonder where that girl is now Still sometimes I think about Whether she’s still standing or if she fell down Man I didn’t know what I’d found What I would not give just to see her now She might get up and walk right out Or would she come over and sit right down For just one more night and one more round CHORUS When she’s got whisky on her lips Like the seven deadly sins You better try to hold her back Boy you best not let her in Cause when that bottle’s in her grip And the devil’s on her hips She’s gonna try to pull you down With her with every little sip END CHORUS I wonder where that girl is now Still sometimes I think about Whether she’s still standing or if she fell down Man I didn’t know what I’d found What I would not give just to see her now She might get up and walk right out Or would she come over and sit right down For just one more night and one more round

Been a Long Time By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 Was awake in a dream Tried to talk to you but couldn’t breathe Was alone at the edge of the world Holding hands with some other girl CHORUS It’s been a long time since I called you mine Been a long road and we’re taking our time Been a long time since I called you a friend And I’d like to do so once again VERSE 2 The thought of you just wouldn’t leave Was a vision I couldn’t believe And a future I just couldn’t see A future without you and me CHORUS It’s been a long time since I called you mine Been a long road and we’re taking our time Been a long time since I called you a friend And I’d like to do so once again BRIDGE She knows all of my desires She breaks me down and lights the fire But I turned away from that life To a place where that fire doesn’t light CHORUS It’s been a long time since I called you mine Been a long road and we’re taking our time Been a long time since I called you a friend And I’d like to do so once again It’s been a long time since I held your hand Been a long time since you called me your man Been a long sobering road and I feel like I could love you once again

Cold and Lonely Ride By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 There may be something different about me in my life It's a vacant, sad expression that I wear most of the time If I could I'd hop a bus to where the sun don't rise But it's a cold and lonely, cold and lonely ride. VERSE 2 I need to find a place where they don't know me for my crimes And fortunately for me I know just the place to hide It's way beyond my conscience just behind that wall of lies But it's a cold and lonely, cold and lonely ride CHORUS All those voices in my head, made me say the things I said And there's not gonna be a chance to run There's not gonna be a chance to run I've gotta go find a place to hide But it's a cold and lonely ride And after all is said and done There's not gonna be a chance to run I've gotta go find a place to hide But it's a cold and lonely ride VERSE 3 I'd separate myself and the world I'd leave behind Hoping that somewhere out there, it'll all be cast aside And I'd stay there undiscovered until the end of time But it's a cold and lonely, cold and lonely ride CHORUS All those voices in my head, made me say the things I said And there's not gonna be a chance to run There's not gonna be a chance to run I've gotta go find a place to hide But it's a cold and lonely ride And after all is said and done There's not gonna be a chance to run BRIDGE All those pretty little things And all those dreams you've had, Those dreams you've had Well they don't mean anything They just leave you sad CHORUS All those voices in my head, made me say the things I said And there's not gonna be a chance to run There's not gonna be a chance to run I've gotta go find a place to hide But it's a cold and lonely ride And after all is said and done There's not gonna be a chance to run I've gotta go find a place to hide But it's a cold and lonely ride

Closet Full of Skeletons By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 This is my confession that I make before I go On occasion I may not have been the man you know I should have told you sooner but my head had come unglued Before I got the nerve you went and got my name tattooed CHORUS I've got a closet full of skeletons Right behind that door And I'm sorry baby I cannot keep them hidden anymore VERSE 2 I made my way downtown already had me one or two Then while at the pub I might have had me another few As I stepped out the truck that lady cop she told me son You'd best come with me now cause you've got nowhere left to run CHORUS I've got a closet full of skeletons Right behind that door And I'm sorry baby I cannot keep them hidden anymore VERSE 3 I woke one morning with another lady by my side And 9 months later came another secret I had to hide. She called me up from half a world away to let me know He'd taken on a likeness to his daddy as he'd grown. CHORUS I've got a closet full of skeletons Right behind that door And I'm sorry baby I cannot keep them hidden anymore VERSE 4 Looking to make a buck I made a deal with shady Lou To take a shipment south across a state line maybe two Once again I found myself in trouble with the law This time though I understood the lesson I'd been taught CHORUS I've got a closet full of skeletons Right behind that door And I'm sorry baby I cannot keep them hidden anymore I've got a closet full of skeletons Right behind that door And I'm sorry baby I cannot keep them hidden anymore

Me and You By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 Sit with me now And talk a bit about yourself Tell me how you've come to be so shy Is it the color of your eyes The way they change a bit in hue One of them is green the other one is blue Walk with me now Beneath the shade of summer trees When the world is so colorful and new As I walk along beside you captivated by your smile You look up at me As the birds singing just for you CHORUS I see trees of green And the color of the sun As you lay here in the grass with me until tomorrow comes I have everything that I could ever want Right beside me on this little patch of grass just me and you VERSE 2 Talk with me now I want to know whats deep inside All the fears you hold beside your heart In the depths of your imagination Memories old and new I'll share the joy and sorrow, just to sit right here with you CHORUS I see trees of green And the color of the sun As you lay here in the grass with me until tomorrow comes I have everything that I could ever want Right beside me on this little patch of grass just me and you BRIDGE By this time tomorrow My obsession will not end I will feel the same way now as I did then And by this time tomorrow You'll wake up you'll see I'll be part of you and you'll be part of me VERSE 3 Sing with me now forget about everything else All the distractions we let into our lives And we'll sing a different song One that begins with you and me And ends with us together till the end of history CHORUS I see trees of green And the color of the sun As you lay here in the grass with me until tomorrow comes I have everything that I could ever want Right beside me on this little patch of grass just me and you

Can’t Let You Go By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 I can feel you crawling in my bed at night I hear you talking in your sleep and I can See you every time that I turn on the bedroom light And I still do dream about the time we had I need to get you the hell out of my head If not soon I swear to God I’m gonna go insane CHORUS I could ride that train down to San Antonio And sing every song that I know I could take that plane up and down the coast And I still can’t let you go I could wrap my arms around every girl that I meet everywhere that I go I can try to forget but I still can’t let you go VERSE 2 I know too much pain is in the past and I don’t blame you for never looking back I know I hurt you and if I could take it back you know I would But I hope you remember just the best of me And hold on to the happy memories because I love you and I know that in my heart, I always will CHORUS I could ride that train down to San Antonio And sing every song that I know I could take that plane up and down the coast And I still can’t let you go I could wrap my arms around every girl that I meet everywhere that I go I can try to forget but I still can’t let you go BRIDGE I know they say that time heals everything But I disagree time just makes it sting All this time alone and will I ever let you go Cause I could try to pretend but in the end you’re all I know END CHORUS (Variation) I could ride that train down to San Antonio And sing every song that I know I could take that plane up and down the coast And I still can’t let you go I could give my heart to every girl that I meet everywhere that I go I can try to forget but I still can’t let you go

Let Me Say Goodbye By Edison Kitt VERSE 1 I board the plane to Chicago Watch the world drop away Staring out that tiny window Watching as my former life starts to fade For as long as I can remember I’ve felt this sorrow in my soul Many years now these nights are cold and dark Now my heart is telling me I’ve got to go VERSE 2 Days went on and we grew closer It breaks my heart to tell you this While the bad outweighed the good so many times There’s still so many things about you I will miss CHORUS We found love in a paper cup The years have all but swallowed up And now its time to dry your eyes Though love is just a memory I feel you holding on to me Darling please just let me say goodbye VERSE 3 Now’s it time to draw the curtains Now’s it’s time to let the wind Blow us in a new direction Take us down another path Where another life waits at the end CHORUS We found love in a paper cup The years have all but swallowed up And now its time to dry your eyes Though love is just a memory I feel you holding on to me Darling please just let me say goodbye BRIDGE It’s time to call an end to The life we knew so long ago Broken hearts and broken windows in the past Now the future is a thing will never know CHORUS We found love in a paper cup The years have all but swallowed up And now its time to dry your eyes Though love is just a memory I feel you holding on to me Darling please just let me say goodbye END CHORUS We found love in a paper cup The years have all but swallowed up And now its time to dry your eyes Our love is just a memory But I feel you holding on to me Darling please just let me say goodbye

about

For a long time after my drummer and best friend passed away, I strayed from music. I thought I'd never write again. Until one evening, several whiskeys deep, I picked up a dusty old acoustic guitar and a folk song came out. It was reminiscent of John Prine's early work (fitting as he had always been a hero of mine). I called it "Someone Just Like You". So I pulled out my phone and made a recording. The next day, I did the same thing. I would drink my pain away, and folk songs would sort of pour out of me. I didn't really even try to write them. After about a month, I had 15 or so "whiskey-induced" folk songs.

Then as fate would have it, I was out at a local club watching my friend's band play, and I ran into record producer and long-time friend, Michael Crittenden. He asked me what I was up to, and I said, "Not much, just writing sappy folk songs". He told me to come by the studio so he could have a listen. And fast forward... we recorded a six-song EP entitled "Hello".

Since that EP, I've continued to write and hone my sound in the Americana genre (which was new for me). And began performing the songs live with my band "The Strangers" (a little nod to the great Merle Haggard).

Michael and I spent the next couple of years refining and recording what would become "Whiskey Ramblings". A collection of songs that depicts where I was in life at the time. Losing friends and loved ones, self-doubt and heartbreak... but also a bit of hope for a better future.
